Fishing with Bear

So we took our littlest one to the Lake of the Woods Cabins, and went fishing with her. She was a really good girl, but as soon as she stepped on the aluminum boats she just froze. She hardly moved at all and was so uninterested in the fish daddy was catching. So I decided to take her to the dock and just take some pics of her. She was so interested in everything around her, it was near impossible to get her to look at the camera. Not to mention I was ticking the other fishermen off by making ridiculous and noisy sounds, so I just opted for candid shots. Enjoy!

Justine Miller Photography- Heart of America Foundation

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some wonderful people from the
Heart of America Foundation. They had asked me to come out a photograph some before pictures of an upcoming project they will be working on here in Arizona. They will be partnering with Target in renovating and remodeling a elementary library/media center at a local school here in Phoenix which will service many low-income children.
When I arrived at the school, it appeared to be a normal school, it was in a rough neighborhood, but aside from the bars surrounding the school, it appeared to be just any ordinary school. I was astounded when I walked into the library. The library was just perfect for this foundations project, where they will renovate, remodle, refurnish and restock this library so that these children have the reading experience that they deserve. The main thing that struck me was the lack of books in this library. They had a pretty decent selection of picture books for the younger children, but there was a lacking of hardback and even paperback books for the older reading levels. I didnt see a cataloge for the children to learn how to look up books, their media desk consisted of a small table and computer. I was just shocked to see how little they had to work with and I was so happy to know that there was a wonderful group who were going to take the time to give these children the library they deserve to have. The project managers over at the Heart of America told me the library will be receiving two thousand new books, and each child will be receiveing five books for their own keeping, and on top of that target will be giving 2 more books per child. This is just a wonderful group of people and a wonderful cause. If you have time, stop by their website and see how you can help with this wonderful cause!
I will post some before afters in Sept/Oct once the project is complete. I really can't wait to see what they do!

Justine Miller Photography- Family Trip to Rawhide

My cousins came in this past week from Bakersfield, so the family all went out to Rawhide Wild West Town, in Chandler Arizona. It was a tad hot, so we all stayed in the shade for the first part of the day. The Kids had a fun time, Mason went panning for gold, Ryleigh explored the little playground town they had there and Ashlynn was into everything, but especially the animals. She was just a tad too short to ride the burro rides, but the lady was nice enough to let her sit on one.. she has got some cowgirl in her! The highlight of the night was watching Tyce get thrown from the bull though. Here's some pics.

Justine Miller- Arizona Children's Photography talks about: Happy 1st Birthday Iliana

Happy 1st Brithday cutie. Just look at those gorgeous eyes she has!

We went with her and her family to Desert Breeze Park and despite being a very serious baby, we got her to relax at times. We went on the train ride, which mom self admitted that she enjoyed more than Iliana. Iliana's grandmother made her an adorable pink tutu, but you will have to wait to see those pictures :)

She was an adorable baby, and Mom...... WE have a Smile!

Justine Miller Photography- Happy Easter 2008

So I have been super busy these past few weeks, and am terribly late at posting this, but better late than never. We had a great Easter this year. It was so fun to see all of the kids finally participate in the easter egg hunt. Mason was the egg hog... but was there any doubt? Ashlynn cleaned up nicely finding about 6 of the 50 eggs we hid.. and poor Bear, well she hates grass.. so she was content to just sit there and play with the hand me downs from her brother and sister. After our Easter egg hunt, we went to have brunch with our families at
Gardunos. They have an amazing buffet on Easter, and they hid easter eggs about the waiting area for all the kids to enjoy. I think Mason made 5 cents from his efforts! Ashlynn only wanted the ones with candy in them. It was nice to see my aunts and grandmother and just spend time with the whole family. Photo is courtesy of my Husband.. :)
